Nereus Selection 2010


Nereus 2008 is a coupage out of Merlot (50%), Syrah (35%) and Black Grenache (15%). All the grapes are harvested separately in our vineyards in order they reach the optimal ripeness. In 2010 we produced 4.250 75 cl.

Wine – making. Macerated and fermented separatelly per estate and per variety. Fermented in small stainless steel tanks of 1.500 to 2.000 kg (microvinification). We select the yeasts and temperature best adapted to each variety.

Aging. Once must is fermented we age it during 12 months in American and French oak barrels. At the end of the aging process we blend the different varieties and bottle the wine which remains in our cellar for at least 18 additional months.

Tasting note. Nereus Barrica is a high quality, full-bodied, well structured and harmonic wine. This wine presents distinguished aromatic notes. Once in mouth, it has remarkable structure, it is well-balanced, tasteful, rich, wide, dense and well-integrated wood. Nereus is a mineral wine with a fresh soar sensation that combines with refined tannins. Long and pleasant end in mouth where all nose complex sensations comes up.

Punctuations. Nereus Barrica has obtained an 85 in Guia Peñín and 88 Catalonia Wines Guide. Parker valued this wine with 88 points. All of them highlighted its fruity aromas and well-integrated wood.
